Joseph Yang, MS/Biomed ’25 PCOM Georgia Graduate Profile
May 19, 2025Joseph Yang, MS/Biomed '25
If you ask Joseph Yang about the best decision he’s ever made, he’ll tell you it was
moving from New York to Georgia to pursue his medical education as a Biomedical Sciences student at PCOM Georgia.
Initially, Yang thought a business career would be more practical but quickly realized
it wasn’t what he truly wanted.
“I felt pulled toward something more meaningful, and over time, it became clear that
becoming a physician was what I was meant to do. The thought of being involved in
a person's care, supporting them through both the challenges and the healing, stayed
with me. That's what ultimately led me to choose this path.”
Yang decided to pursue the Masters in Biomedical Sciences program to strengthen his
academic foundation and better prepare for medical school. Coming from a different career path like business, he knew he needed a program that
would give him a solid understanding of what medical school is really like.
He hopes to attend the Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) program at PCOM Georgia in the fall and continue building on the foundation he’s gained through
his current studies.
“My goal is to become a well-rounded, compassionate physician who provides high-quality
care and makes a meaningful difference in patients’ lives,” Yang said.
As for the person in his life who inspires him the most, he said it's his father.
“My Dad. Despite facing difficult times, he never gave up and always found a way to
provide for me and my siblings, so we can pursue our dreams. His selflessness sets
an example that continues to shape who I am today.”
