Website Accessibility Statement

Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine (PCOM) is committed to making its web content usable and accessible to all visitors. We treat digital accessibility as an ongoing institutional responsibility, not a onetime project, and we are actively working to improve the accessibility of the websites we operate.

Standard We Follow

PCOM uses the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C), as the technical standard against which we measure and remediate our websites. 

Scope

This statement applies to the websites that PCOM owns and operates, including our public facing pages and the authenticated myPCOM portal. The following are not covered by this statement:

  • Websites and platforms operated by separate legal entities, which publish their own accessibility statements.
  • Content and services hosted or operated by third party vendors on our behalf, where the vendor controls the underlying technology. We address vendor accessibility through our procurement and vendor management process.
  • Third party content displayed on our sites that we do not author or control, such as externally supplied job postings, embedded media, and linked external resources.

What We Are Doing

PCOM maintains an accessibility program that includes the following measures:

  • Automated and manual accessibility audits of our web properties on a recurring basis.
  • A prioritized remediation process that addresses the most impactful barriers first.
  • Accessibility requirements built into our website governance and our vendor and procurement review.
  • Internal review of new and updated content before and after publication.

Formal Complaints

If you are not satisfied with our response, you may escalate your concern through PCOM's grievance process under Section 504 and the Americans with Disabilities Act.
