The mission of the Department of Bio-Medical Sciences is to provide our students with the skills and knowledge necessary to successfully pursue various career paths which include the Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine and Master's in Biomedical Sciences.
Our faculty promotes and provides expert instruction within a learning environment that emphasizes critical reasoning in the basic sciences as it applies to medical, clinical, biotechnological and research applications.
We train and then validate that each student can successfully demonstrate the applications of his or her knowledge and skills in rigorous academic and professional settings. It is this training and validation that sets our Biomedical Sciences program apart, as our students develop a sense of confidence and purpose having experienced growth in a meaningful and personal manner.
Furthermore, our faculty provide research opportunities for all of our students as they are performing contemporary and cutting-edge research in the neurosciences, cardiovascular diseases, cancer, metabolic diseases and others.
Students receive training designed to increase professional and academic opportunities and facilitate their successful entry into their chosen career paths. The Biomedical Sciences program allows students the flexibility to concentrate in one of several professional areas and also offers a certificate of post-baccalaureate graduate study.
