OLAYINKA I. AFOLAYAN-OLOYE, MD
Associate Professor of Pathophysiology

Olayinka I. Afolayan-Oloye, MD, teaches pathophysiology in the Department of Biomedical Sciences at Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. Before joining PCOM, he served as associate professor of pathophysiology/physiology at the University of Health Sciences Antigua School of Medicine and All Saints University College of Medicine at Saint Vincent and the Grenadines in the Caribbean. Before then, he also worked as a full-time faculty in the Department of Pathophysiology, Pharmacology, and Clinical Skills at St. George’s University, Grenada.

Dr. Afolayan-Oloye has broad experience in bio-medical education, curriculum design, implementation & evaluation, diverse teaching methodologies, and other indices of academic standards. He has held many administrative and academic positions, including Associate Dean of Basic Sciences, Associate Dean of Student Affairs, Chair of Education, Assessment, Promotions, and Curriculum Committee, and Course Directors of Physiology and Clinical Skills. He has also served as a member of the Executive Committee on Academic Policy and the Admissions Committee at different times. Dr. Afolayan-Oloye has been teaching pathophysiology, physiology, and clinical skills for more than 15 years. His teaching style is engaging and student-centered, and he has mentored many students from diverse backgrounds.

Dr. Afolayan-Oloye is registered and holds a practicing license with the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria.
