Frequently Asked Questions

How does orientation work and what are the dates?

PCOM orientation programs on both campuses are designed to acclimate new students to the PCOM community. Orientation programs are unique and tailored to each academic program.

New students are required to attend all orientation events.

Orientation program dates will be posted on myPCOM.

What is myPCOM?

MyPCOM is the PCOM intranet site that is accessible by login for students, faculty and staff. MyPCOM offers access to important resources related to academics, financial aid and other student services.

Where can I find information on registering for classes?

Visit the Registrar Office's FAQ page. Here you can find the start date of classes as well as other information regarding the registration process.

For additional registration information, visit the Office of the Registrar.

Where can I find information on financial aid and paying for school?

The Office of Financial Aid provides detailed information and resources on types of aid (including student loans, scholarships, work study and more), how to apply and financial literacy.

Does PCOM require students to have health insurance?

Yes. All students enrolled at PCOM must be covered by a health insurance plan.

PCOM offers student health insurance through United Healthcare. Every student is required to either enroll in coverage through First Risk Student Insurance or to waive coverage on the same site. Once on the website use the drop down menu to select PCOM's Pennsylvania or Georgia location.

What is the Medical History Questionnaire?

The Medical History Questionnaire is a health physical form that is required to be completed before classes begin by students in the DO, Physician Assistant, Biomedical Sciences and Forensic Medicine programs.

The Medical History Questionnaire form can be found on each academic program's new student link on myPCOM.

If you have any questions about the form, please contact the Student Wellness Office at 215-871-6420 (PCOM) or 678-225-7484 (PCOM Georgia and PCOM South Georgia).
