In the midst of a global pandemic, students from the class of 2020 celebrated one of the most exciting days in their professional journey—match day. Here they share their personal match story, what has inspired them along the way and what advice they would give to students starting the journey today.

What inspired you to go into psychology?

Awe.

Awe of people, the heaviness they carry, the grace they exude. And an eternal and intrinsic belief that psychologists have the unique privilege to partner alongside those with a range of profound needs, and the responsibility to provide informed, sensitive, and empowering care. Psychologists recognize the humanity, the dignity, and the self-worth of those with whom we encounter. I cannot think of another career more valuable or better suited for me.

Children's Hospital of Philadelphia - Integrated Behavioral Health Track.

How did you feel when you matched?

Ineffable.

What advice would you give to year one PsyD students starting their journey?

Call me :)

What is one memory you will take with you from PCOM?

Indescribable and lifelong friendships.
