Donald Allison, DO, Named Chair of Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine at PCOM South Georgia

Donald Allison, DO, has been appointed chair and associate professor of the Department of Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine (OMM) at PCOM South Georgia. A PCOM alumnus and longtime faculty member and clinician, he brings deep institutional knowledge and more than a decade of experience serving students, colleagues, and patients to the role.

“Dr. Allison's experience, leadership, and dedication to osteopathic medical education will be tremendous assets to our students, faculty, and institution,” said Robert J. Lloyd, DO, FACOS, dean of the Osteopathic Medicine Program at PCOM South Georgia. “I am confident he will play a significant role in advancing the mission of our OMM Department and strengthening the educational experience for our learners.”

Allison earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from PCOM in 2009 and completed his residency in OMM at the College in 2012 before joining the Philadelphia campus as an associate professor. For the past 14 years, he has been a provider at the PCOM Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine (OMM) Practice.

“Pursuing a Chair position just felt like the most logical next step in my career, and one I am excited about,” Allison said. “I hope to continue PCOM’s tradition of excellence in South Georgia and help students realize their full potential.”

Allison is board-certified in Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine and OMM and is an active member of the American Academy of Osteopathy and the American Osteopathic Association. He also serves on the National Board of Osteopathic Medical Examiners, contributing to the development and assessment of future osteopathic physicians.

Allison joins a growing OMM department at PCOM South Georgia, as Rachel Jeter, DO, joined the college as an assistant professor earlier this summer. Together, Allison and Jeter bring their expertise and passion for patient care to the College and its students.

“The training on this campus truly emphasizes a holistic approach; it's baked into the curriculum,” he said. “Our students have a great advantage here, and I am honored to play a part in their OMM education.”
