Research Facilities
Basic and translational research are carried out in PCOM's laboratories and core campus
facilities.
Our research laboratories and classrooms contain state-of-the-art equipment for molecular,
biochemical, morphometric and behavioral analyses, cell and tissue intravital microscopy,
live cell imaging, cell culture, electrophysiology, and assessments of vision. Clinical,
behavioral and community-based research are integrated into our healthcare centers,
medical offices, affiliates and the community.
The Dr. Michael and Wendy Saltzburg Clinical Learning and Assessment Center on the Philadelphia campus, the Simulation Center at PCOM Georgia and the Simulation Center at PCOM South Georgia—featuring patient and training rooms, surgical and emergency
treatment suites, and robotic and virtual simulators—are utilized for student and
faculty training.
