June 1, 2017Bettina Bernstein, DO, clinical assistant professor, psychiatry, participated in the American Academy of
Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Legislative Day on Capitol Hill. She and Sonia Shastry
(DO ’18) met with Pennsylvania legislators to discuss medical school debt relief and
training opportunities for future child and adolescent psychiatrists.
Mindy George-Weinstein, PhD, chief science and research officer, received the Distinguished Alumni Award from
Jefferson College of Biomedical Sciences, during its annual Alumni Day. Dr. George-Weinstein
also lectured on “The Myo/Nog Lineage in the Embryo and Adult.”
Xinyu (Eric) Wang, PhD, assistant professor, pharmaceutical sciences, coauthored “Time Course Expression
Analysis of 1[2-cyano-3,12-dioxooleana-1,9(11)-dien-28-oyl]imidazole Induction of
Cytoprotection in Human Endothelial Cells,” in the journal Gene Regulation and Systems Biology.
