Hospital Readmissions Among Hemodialysis Patients,” in the journal BMC Nephrology.
Emily Chea (DO ’19), co-authored “Hyperpigmented Macules in the Oral Mucosa and Melanonychia” which published
in the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology Case Reports.
Jason Cohn, DO, resident, otolaryngology and Kimberly Rethy, DO, resident, otolaryngology, co-authored “Pediatric Bronchogenic Cysts: A Case Series
of Six Patients Highlighting Diagnosis and Management,” in the Journal of Investigative Surgery.
Matt DiMeglio, (DO/MBA ’20) and William Furey (DO/MBA ’20) co-authored the article “Content Analysis of Locum Tenens Recruitment Emails for
Anesthesiologists,” in the journal BMC Health Services Research. Mr. DiMeglio was also first author on “Factors Underlying Racial Disparities in
Sepsis Management,” in the journal Healthcare.
Diego Galindo (DO ’21), co-authored “Biomimetic Proteoglycans can Molecularly Engineer Early Osteoarthritic
Cartilage in Vivo,” in the Journal of Orthopaedic Research.
Katherine Galluzzi, DO, chair, geriatrics, was awarded the Grace W. Harrison Award by the Eastern Pennsylvania
Geriatrics Society for her distinguished service in the field of long-term care and
for extraordinary accomplishments in advancing education for nursing home administrators
and staff. Dr. Galluzzi was also the keynote speaker at the awards ceremony and presented
“How Did We Get Here and Where Do We Go?”
Samantha Haraszti (DO’19), co-authored “Eruptive Melanocytic Nevi in a Patient with Parkinson Disease treated
by Carbidopa-Levodopa,” in the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatorly Case Reports.
Abhi Jain (DO ’19), co-authored “Comparison of PED and FRED Flow Diverters for Internal Carotid Artery
Aneurysms: A Propensity Score-Matched Cohort Study,” which published in the journal
Neurosurgery.
Eric Kim, DO ’13, resident, orthopedic surgery, co-authored “Incidence and Risk Factors for Posterior
Cruciate Ligament Avulsion during Cruciate Retaining Total Knee Arthroplasty,” in
the Journal of Knee Surgery.
Robert Kowtoniuk (DO ’19), was first author on “Multiple Pink Papules on the Chest and Upper Abdomen,” which
published in the journal Cutis.
Minisha Lohani (DO ’20), was first author on “Potential Benefits to Families, Children, and Adolescents Enrolled
in Longitudinal Qualitative Research,” in the journal IRB: Ethics and Human Research.
Carol Miller, PhD, professor, physical therapy and director, curriculum and instruction, was first
author on “The Effect of Body Weight Support on Energy Expenditure in an Individual
with High-Level Lower Extremity Amputation,” in the Journal of American Physical Therapy Association.
Kumar Mukherjee, PhD, assistant professor, pharmacy, co-authored “Cost-Effectiveness and Budget Impact
of Lumacaftor/Ivacaftor in the Treatment of Cystic Fibrosis,” in the Journal of Managed Care & Specialty Pharmacy.
Harish Parihar, RPh, PhD, dean, assessment and program quality and associate professor, pharmacy practice;
Oliwier Nowak (DO ’19); Bernadett Boronea (PharmD ’19); Teena John (PharmD ’19); Jung-Jung Shang (PharmD ’19) co-authored “Effectiveness of Influenza Vaccination in Patients with Diabetes: A
Systematic Review,” in the Journal of Managed Care and Specialty Pharmacy.
Ahmed Siddiqi, DO, resident, orthopedic surgery and John J. McPhilemy, DO ’78, director, orthopedic surgery residency, co-authored “Bilateral Femoral Neck Fractures
in a Middle-Aged Female After a Low Energy Fall,” in the journal Surgical Technology International. Dr. Siddiqi also co-authored the following articles: “Intra-Articular Corticosteroid
Injection Following Total Knee Arthroplasty: Is it Effective?” in the Journal of Arthroplasty; “Diagnosis and Management of Fungal Periprosthetic Joint Infections,” in the Journal of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons; and “Routine Preoperative Venous Doppler Screening is Not Effective in Preventing
Thromboembolic Events After Total Joint Arthroplasty,” in the journal Orthopedics.
