DO Student Matches Anesthesiology Residency at HCA Kendall
Lisandra Chinea (DO ’26) - Match Day 2026
March 27, 2026
Lisandra Chinea (DO ’26) feels extremely grateful and blessed when reflecting on her
Match Day experience at PCOM South Georgia.
Chinea will complete her residency at HCA Kendall in Miami, Florida, where she will
combine her academic passions and clinical interests by specializing in anesthesiology.
“I always wanted a specialty that fully integrated physiology, pharmacology and hands-on
procedures while also caring for patients during their most vulnerable situations,”
she said.
Chinea hopes to one day have a successful career as an attending anesthesiologist
and believes PCOM South Georgia has helped chart that path.
“By giving me strong clinical exposure early on and working closely with physicians who were genuinely invested in teaching,
I was able to develop both hands-on skills and confidence in patient care.”
She added that opportunities such as virtual residency fairs and mock interviews helped
her better understand the application process and prepare for the next steps in her
career—something she encourages third-year Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine students to do as well.
“Make connections early, and be sure to start your ERAS (Electronic Residency Application
Service) and residency planning at the beginning of your third year,” she advised.
Her overarching advice to medical students? “Take it one day at a time and don’t dwell
on the failures,” she said. “Not everything is ‘HIGH YIELD’ and learning the underlying
pathophysiology will make everything else make sense.”
