Additional activities include a guided tour of the cadaver lab and an overview of the program. Several sessions will include student learning assessments to measure subject comprehension.
Participation is strongly encouraged for all newly admitted PharmD students. The PreMP started in 2025 will be offered in Summer 2026.
All newly admitted students will receive additional details regarding enrollment through official communication from the Office of Student Affairs. The program will be required for all students repeating their first year of the PharmD program.
The two-week PreMP consists of two-hour hybrid sessions, offered in person and via Zoom. Sessions will be held weekly on Friday in August and structured as described:
10-11:50 a.m.: Session I
1-2:50 p.m.: Session II
Each session will provide an in-class experience in a collaborative learning environment and support students' learning through formative assessment methodology. The PreMP sessions will delineate the pharmaceutical mathematical skills and medical technology essential to success in the rigorous PharmD curriculum.
Student learning will be evaluated through assessments. A pre-program and post-program survey will also be administered to secure participant feedback. These evaluations will help inform the continued development and effectiveness of the program.
