The Student Success Center (SSC) is a 55,000-square-foot facility designed to support students’ professional, mental
and physical success in one integrated space. Renovated in early 2026 through donations
to the PCOM United & Ignited fundraising campaign, the SSC features modernized, flexible
and accessible environments that promote academic persistence, wellness and engagement.
Inside, students have access to a fully equipped fitness center, exercise studios
with daily classes, recreational games such as billiards and table tennis, dedicated
student club space, and updated lounge areas for collaboration and study. On the second
floor, Calabro Commons serves as a multi-purpose lounge for gathering and study, with
flexible seating, table games and vending. Nearby, Biggs Connection Corner features
updated furniture and expanded options for both individual and group learning. The
Student Food Pantry remains centrally located on this floor to ensure continued access
to essential resources. The third floor houses the Gene and Roz Chaiken Academic Center
of Excellence, which includes reservable study rooms, testing accommodations, advising
space and quiet study zones.
The rooftop offers an open-air deck and multisport court with views of the Philadelphia
skyline. Just one block away, a large grass field, walking track and outdoor exercise
stations provide additional space for recreation, student activities and seasonal
events.
