Diana Tran (PharmD ’21)
Match Day 2021

March 26, 2021

Students from the class of 2021 celebrated one of the most exciting days in their professional journey—Match Day. Here they share their personal match story, what has inspired them along the way and what advice they would give to students starting the journey today.

PCOM Georgia's Diana Tran (PharmD '21) matched to WellStart Cobb Hospital and is working to become a clinical pharmacist.Where did you match?

WellStar Cobb Hospital

What inspired you to go into pharmacy?

At a young age, I always knew I wanted to be in the healthcare field. I chose to become a pharmacist because I wanted to play a crucial role in one’s health. I can see how far the role of a pharmacist has expanded. The possibilities are endless. I believe my calling is to become a clinical pharmacist. I enjoy using my clinical knowledge to make interventions and being part of patient assistance programs.

How did you feel when you found out you had matched?

It took me a few days to process that I matched because I was also getting married at the same time! Within one weekend, I was married and matched! The entire weekend flew by, and I am consumed with so much happiness.

What advice would you give to year one pharmacy students just starting their journey?

The best advice I can give is to take every opportunity as a learning experience and always pay it forward. Also, remember you are human, and everyone else is too! There will be days that are harder than others. Don’t be so hard on yourself. Last, trust the process!
