The Simulation Center at PCOM South Georgia provides students with an immersive, hands-on training environment that closely mirrors
real-world clinical settings. Designed to enhance skill development and clinical decision-making,
the center features high-fidelity patient mannequins, birthing and trauma simulators,
standardized patients and virtual reality technologies.
Students gain practical experience across a range of scenarios—from routine exams
to emergency interventions—within fully equipped exam rooms, a clinical skills lab,
and a simulated operating room complete with surgical lights, oxygen and suction systems,
and specialized trainers like the LAP Mentor and FLS Laparoscopic Trainer. A mobile
medical unit further extends training opportunities into community-based settings.
Each room is equipped with cameras and microphones, allowing for recorded sessions
that support debriefing, faculty feedback and peer collaboration. Through repeated,
realistic practice, the Simulation Center helps students build confidence, competence
and readiness for clinical rotations and future patient care.
