The Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine (OMM) Laboratory at PCOM South Georgia is a hands-on learning environment where students
develop critical clinical skills in a setting designed to support both comfort and
precision. The lab is filled with natural light and features ergonomic, height-adjustable
tables that accommodate a variety of techniques and body types, ensuring an inclusive
and accessible experience for all learners.
Here, Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) students gain practical experience in applying osteopathic principles under the guidance of skilled faculty. Instruction is enhanced by integrated audio-visual
technology, which allows real-time demonstrations to be clearly viewed from every
angle in the room. This ensures that students can observe, understand, and replicate
techniques with accuracy, regardless of their seating location.
Adjacent to the lab, a designated study and practice area offers additional space
for students to collaborate, refine their skills, and engage in peer-to-peer learning.
This area supports independent practice outside of formal instruction, helping students
build confidence and competence as they prepare for clinical rotations and future
patient care.
