Brian Mann, EdD, MS, PA-C, has been appointed dean of the School of Health Professions and Sciences (SHPS) at PCOM after serving as interim dean since February 2025.

The appointment builds upon Mann's continued successes advancing the institution's educational mission which has included overseeing Simulation Centers and Anatomy Labs across all three locations since joining PCOM in 2021.

“Brian's commitment to fostering innovation in clinical education and advancing faculty collaboration and student achievement across multiple disciplines makes him exceptionally qualified for this role,” said Kenneth Veit, DO '76, MBA. “I look forward to seeing his continued pursuit of excellence as he further elevates the academic and professional success of our students.”

Based at PCOM Georgia, Mann brings extensive higher education and clinical experience to his role, having previously served as director of Simulation Education at Campbell University's Jerry M. Wallace School of Osteopathic Medicine and as a physician assistant at FirstHealth of the Carolinas Convenient Care, the Cleveland Clinic, and other leading hospitals in Northeast Ohio.

“I am honored to serve as Dean of the School of Health Professions and Sciences at PCOM and view this appointment as an opportunity to advance a sustainable, forward-looking vision for the School—one that prioritizes academic excellence, innovation in health professions education and meaningful engagement across our community,” shared Mann. “I look forward to collaborating closely with students, faculty and staff to continue strengthening our foundation and expanding our collective impact.”

With Mann's transition to his full-time leadership role as dean, Danny Opperman, MBA, NRP, CHSE, CHSOS, will serve as interim chief of Simulation Operations, and Jeff Seiple, MBA, LFD, LE, will assume the role of interim chief of Anatomical Services. Both leaders will continue to build upon the strong foundations established under Mann's direction, ensuring continued excellence in experiential learning and program development.

“As a leader, one of the greatest joys is guiding others to greatness,” said Mann. “I am proud to see how much Danny and Jeff have grown as leaders, and I know that they will continue to advance the experiential learning opportunities for students and the community as a whole.”

In addition to being a certified physician assistant, Mann earned his doctorate in education from A.T. Still University in Kirksville, Missouri, and his master's degree in Advanced Physician Assistant Studies from A.T. Still's location in Mesa, Arizona.

PCOM's School of Health Professions and Sciences offers degree-granting programs in physician assistant studies, physical therapy, forensic medicine, medical laboratory science, cancer biology, and biomedical sciences.
