PCOM President and CEO Jay S. Feldstein, DO '81, has been honored again as one of Georgia’s 500 Most Influential People by Georgia Trend Magazine. This marks the second consecutive time Feldstein has received this recognition, underscoring his significant impact on higher education and health care in the state.

This year, under his leadership, PCOM South Georgia’s Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine program expanded its annual class size to 90 students, enhancing opportunities for aspiring physicians in the region.

This year also marks a milestone for PCOM Georgia as it celebrates its 20th anniversary. The campus received a transformative $1 million gift from philanthropists Clyde and Sandra Strickland of Gwinnett County, supporting doctoral students across osteopathic medicine, pharmacy, and physical therapy programs. The contribution is the largest outright gift to PCOM Georgia during the College’s United & Ignited comprehensive fundraising campaign and, when added to their previous gifts, makes it the largest donor-endowed scholarship across all three PCOM locations.

Recently, PCOM South Georgia celebrated the dedication of the new PCOM South Georgia Rural Health Initiative Building during the 47th Sunbelt Ag Expo, the region’s premier agricultural event. This expansive facility serves as a vital health hub for the community and is a testament to PCOM’s support of healthcare access and education in rural South Georgia.

Additionally, Feldstein was awarded the Dale S. Dodson Award from the American Association of Colleges of Osteopathic Medicine (AACOM), a national honor acknowledging his contributions to advancing osteopathic medical education.

"This recognition reflects the collective dedication and hard work of our faculty, staff, students and partners to the state of Georgia,” Feldstein said. “PCOM cultivates the next generation of healthcare professionals who will make a meaningful difference in Georgia and beyond. I am incredibly proud of the progress we’ve made this past year in advancing that mission."

Feldstein is the eighth president in the College's 126-year history. His oversight of PCOM includes over 3,000 students in osteopathic medical and other doctoral and graduate programs; 660 employees; community healthcare centers; and three campus locations.
