PCOM Georgia Celebrates 'A Night To Ignite Soirée' Honoring Supporters and Raising Scholarship Funds for Students
October 31, 2025
Last week, PCOM Georgia hosted its “A Night to Ignite Soirée” to celebrate progress of the United & Ignited comprehensive fundraising campaign and to honor those whose generosity, commitment and passion have fueled significant
support for PCOM Georgia. All of the nearly $125,000 raised from the event will be
awarded as scholarships to students attending PCOM Georgia from Gwinnett County and
surrounding areas.
The evening featured the presentation of the Ignite Awards to Clyde and Sandra Strickland,
along with the Osteopathic Institute of the South, accepted by Dr. Barry A. Doublestein,
President.
The Stricklands received the Ignite Award in recognition of their remarkable $1 million gift for scholarships to support doctoral students across osteopathic medicine, pharmacy, and physical therapy programs. This contribution is the largest outright gift to PCOM Georgia during the
United & Ignited campaign. When combined with their previous donations, it also makes
them the largest donor-endowed scholarship contributors across all three PCOM locations.
The Osteopathic Institute of the South (OIS) was honored for their instrumental role
to advance osteopathic medicine in Georgia in the early 2000s. In 2022, they selected
PCOM as a recipient of their foundation’s support, and the OIS Endowed Student Emergency
Fund was created. This fund assists students with expenses that may arise in an emergency
situation, including food, housing, and transportation.
The night also celebrated many other generous supporters, including East End Advisors,
PCOM Alumni Association, Piedmont Eastside Medical Center, Jackson EMC, Metro Waterproofing,
Northeast Georgia Health System, Studio Usher, the Atlanta Braves, CCS Fundraising,
Georgia Gwinnett College, Primerica Foundation, The Coca-Cola Bottling Company of
Lawrenceville, Trane, Vantix Electric, and Warren Averett, LLC.
“Thanks to the generosity of our sponsors and supporters, we have raised vital funds
to empower the purpose, practice, and passion of PCOM Georgia students,” said Jay S. Feldstein, DO '81, President and CEO of PCOM. “We sincerely thank everyone who contributed to making
‘A Night to Ignite’ a success.”
