The White Coat Ceremony for the PCOM Georgia Medical Laboratory Science Class of 2026 will be held on August 18, 2026, at 2:30 p.m. in the Willow Ballroom at the Gas South Convention Center.

During the ceremony, students will receive their white coats, symbolizing their transition from student to healthcare professional. The program will also include remarks from guest speakers, a pinning ceremony and the recitation of a professional oath.

Information for Students

Students must register via Tassel in order to participate in the White Coat Ceremony. Tassel is the system used to manage ceremony operations, including student RSVPs, communications, and stage passes. Students must create an account in Tassel to:

  • RSVP for the event
  • receive guest tickets
  • ensure their name is listed and pronounced correctly for the ceremony.

Students will receive an email from studentaffairevents@pcom.edu when the portal is open.

RSVP Required

Students who do not respond and indicate their intent to participate in ceremony by the required deadline may not be able to participate or receive guest tickets.

Students must arrive no later than 90 minutes prior to the ceremony start time.

It is imperative that students arrive at the specified time for instructions and seating arrangements.

Water will be available in student holding area and you may bring snacks or food if needed. You will be waiting for an extended period. Please come prepared.

To maintain a professional atmosphere, please follow these guidelines for attire and preparation:

  • Wear business casual attire.
    • If you choose to wear a dress, please make sure it is longer than your white coat.
    • No jeans or shorts are allowed.
  • Bring your white coat with you, and make sure it is neatly pressed.

To help ensure a smooth and organized experience for all attendees, please review and follow these ticket guidelines:

  • Secure Tickets: Register through Tassel to receive your six (6) guest tickets.
  • Distribute Tickets: Send your tickets to your guests through the Tassel website. You are responsible for ensuring each guest receives their ticket.
  • Ticket Transfers: If you have unused tickets, you may transfer them to other students by emailing the tickets through Tassel.
  • Children: All guests ages three (3) years old and older need a ticket for admission.
  • Ticket Scanning: Each ticket will be scanned at the entrance due to venue fire code limits.
  • Capacity Limits: This event has strict seating limits, similar to concerts or sporting events. Do not bring extra guests, as they will be turned away.
  • Ticket Issues: Guests with ticket problems will be sent to a help desk for assistance. To avoid complications (such as duplicate tickets), send your tickets out carefully and responsibly.
