Where did you match?I matched at Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville, Georgia.
I have chosen to pursue general surgery because surgeons are privileged with a unique opportunity to care for patients at some of their most vulnerable times and practice a wide variety of medicine.
I was beyond thrilled to say the least. Northeast Georgia Medical Center was my number one choice because of the phenomenal training environment, high level of resident autonomy and residency culture.
I would say the best piece of advice I have is to follow your passion and the rest will fall into place. Try not to get discouraged by less than ideal grades or test scores, just keep working hard!
