Located on the second floor of the Howard A. Hassman, DO ’83, Academic Center, the
Dining Commons features a brighter space with expanded seating, while offering a diverse
selection of global cuisines—Latin, Asian, Mediterranean, Italian and Indian—alongside
classic American fare, fresh salads, soups, artisan coffee, sandwiches and a 24/7
grab-and-go market.
“The way to the heart is through the stomach—and we’ve truly taken that to the next
level here at PCOM,” said President and CEO Jay S. Feldstein, DO '81. “Our new Dining Commons isn’t just a facelift—it’s a whole new experience. I hope
it becomes more than a place to eat, but a space to pause, recharge and connect with
one another.”
The opening also highlighted the voices of PCOM’s student leaders. “It’s a place where
we can share a meal, catch up with friends and enjoy the community around us,” said
Paige Schlechter (DO ’28), Student Government Association president. “On those busy
days, it’s the spot to grab something quick with online ordering—or to settle in and
study when we’ve got a little more time. We’re all looking forward to making the Dining
Commons the heart of campus life.”
Students like Katharine Morrison (DO ’29) agreed that the new space will make a meaningful
impact. “I don’t think I’ve seen a medical school with this many healthy options,”
she said. “The coffee bar and 24/7 market are going to be the best for early mornings
and late-night studying.”
The renovated café also introduces a fully cashless experience with digital kiosks
and mobile ordering through the Boost app, allowing diners to browse menus, order
ahead, pay by phone, and pick up meals with ease.
Dining Commons hours are 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 7 a.m. to 2
p.m. Fridays. The Snack Stat! market is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
