PCOM Georgia's Physical Therapy Club is inviting aspiring college students and recent graduates from local universities who are interested in physical therapy, to campus for its third installment of “A Day in the Life of a Physical Therapy Student.”

On Monday, March 9, 2026, participants will join a full-day, hands-on, immersive experience where they will participate in real classes, shadow current Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) students, speak with faculty and staff, and explore the rewarding world of physical therapy.

“I love this event because it's a great way to see how classes flow and what physical therapy school really looks and feels like,” said Israel Ledezma (DPT '27), who participated last year. “I eventually want to be a clinical instructor, so it's a good opportunity to practice teaching and connect with a variety of students.”

The program's Physical Therapy Club, led by Alaina Bell, PT, DPT, CCS, director of Clinical Education, and assistant professor, will welcome the crowd. Throughout the day, Doctor of Physical Therapy professors will cover key topics such as cardiovascular and pulmonary management, physical examination, kinesiology and neurorehabilitation, offering a practical introduction to essential physical therapy skills within a relaxed environment. Additionally, attendees will have the chance to meet future peers and mentors—first- and second-year DPT students—who will share insights into their academic and professional journeys.

An open Q&A session, followed by an introduction from the Office of Admissions team, who will explain the application process and answer questions for prospective students, will close out the day.

“We're really looking forward to this year's event,” shared Dr. Bell. “We've designed it not only to showcase the practical aspects of physical therapy, but also to give a small glimpse of where the world of physical therapy can take you.”
