Carol H. Burrell To Deliver 2025 PCOM Georgia Commencement Address Retired CEO of Northeast Georgia Health System
May 5, 2025
In celebration of the accomplishments of the graduating students at PCOM Georgia, Carol H. Burrell, retired president and CEO of Northeast Georgia Health System (NGHS),
will deliver the 2025 Commencement address on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, at Gas South Convention Center.
With more than four decades of leadership experience in the healthcare industry, Burrell
has played a pivotal role in advancing healthcare initiatives in the Northeast Georgia
region and across the state, leading the health system through an era of unparalleled
growth. Under her leadership, NGHS grew from a one-hospital system with a few employed
physician practices and satellite outpatient locations to one of the largest healthcare
organizations in Georgia—with an economic impact of nearly $7.5 billion each year.
“I am honored to have the opportunity to share in this momentous occasion and encourage
the next generation of healthcare professionals,” Burrell said. “I look forward to
celebrating the hard work of these graduates and the impact they will have on our
communities.”
