Graduate Medical Education at PCOM
Our residency and fellowship training curriculum focuses on the demonstration of the
seven core competencies of the osteopathic profession:
- Osteopathic philosophy and osteopathic manipulative medicine
- Medical knowledge
- Patient care
- Interpersonal and communication skills
- Professionalism
- Practice-based learning and improvement
- Systems-based practice
We provide numerous instructional methods to develop the knowledge, skills and attitudes
of these core competencies.
Our Mission
The mission of the internship and residency programs at Philadelphia College of Osteopathic
Medicine is to train and develop qualified physicians to practice as competent, caring
physicians in the ambulatory, hospital and extended care settings.
