MATTHEW L. HOLT, PHARMD, BCPS
Assistant Professor of Pharmacology

Dr. Matthew Holt received his PharmD from the Auburn University College of Pharmacy. After practicing at the Piedmont Columbus John B. Amos Cancer Center for one year, he completed a PGY1 residency at Piedmont Columbus Midtown. After completing residency, he then practiced as a Clinical Ambulatory Care Pharmacist at the Piedmont Columbus Family Medicine Center.

At the Family Medicine Center, Dr. Holt worked alongside attending physicians, medical residents, and other pharmacists managing chronic disease states encountered in the primary care setting. Also, he served as the primary preceptor for pharmacy students from UGA, Auburn, and Mercer University while they completed their clinical rotations. He worked closely with patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus and anticoagulation disorders. At his practice site, Dr. Holt was passionate about medication affordability and patient access to guideline directed medical therapy.

In 2025, Dr. Holt joined the faculty of PCOM South Georgia as an assistant professor of pharmacology.

Outside of work, Dr. Holt enjoys reading, playing the piano, fishing, and cooking outdoors.
