Nathan Ambrose, MS/PA ‘20
MS in Physician Assistant Studies
For as long as he can remember, Nathan Ambrose, MS/PA ’20, has been interested in
a medical career.  When he completed his undergraduate degree at Michigan State University
in East Lansing, Michigan, he had the opportunity to work collaboratively with a physician

For as long as he can remember, Nathan Ambrose, MS/PA ’20, has been interested in
a medical career.  When he completed his undergraduate degree at Michigan State University
in East Lansing, Michigan, he had the opportunity to work collaboratively with a physician
                     assistant.

“These interactions helped me realize that this was the best fit for me within the
healthcare field. I wanted to have the autonomy to work in a variety of settings throughout
my career and becoming a PA allows me to do that,” he said.

Small class sizes and living near Atlanta originally attracted Ambrose to the physician assistant program at PCOM Georgia. However, he said, “Once I began classes, I found that our faculty
are all truly amazing. They work very hard to ensure that students’ needs are met
and their voices heard throughout the rigors of PA school.”

Ambrose plans to pass his boards and then begin his career in either emergency medicine
or cardiothoracic surgery. He said, “I will continue my studies and work hard to ensure
that I am a competent, trustworthy provider. My goal is to become an expert within
                     my field.”

His father inspires him to do his best every day. “He is one of the hardest working,
most selfless people that you could ever meet,” he said.

Ambrose advises those seeking a career as a physician assistant to “study hard” and
“learn as much as you can while in PA school.”

He added, “The long nights and hard weeks will all be worth it when you are soon doing
what you love. Though it may not seem like it at the time, PA school will fly by so
enjoy the opportunity and embrace the friendships with your classmates.”
