PCOM South Georgia's Commencement Ceremony for the Class of 2026 will be held on Friday,
May 8, 2026, in the John Hunt Auditorium at the University of Georgia Tifton Campus Conference Center.
Commencement will be a formal observance, inclusive of all academic programs. The event will celebrate and recognize the milestone of completing degree requirements for all doctoral and graduate programs in the College of Osteopathic Medicine and School of Health Professions and Sciences.

Attendees must receive a ticket from a PCOM student in order to enter the ceremony. Please visit our FAQ page to view answers to frequently asked questions about the Commencement Ceremony.
Doors open at noon. Those requiring additional seating assistance may enter at 11:45 a.m. Late arrivals will be held in the Atrium until the conclusion of the processional.
Dr. Smith will deliver the commencement address at PCOM South Georgia’s 2026 ceremony, held at the University of Georgia Tifton Campus Conference Center. A board-certified family physician and educator, Dr. Smith has devoted his career to advancing rural healthcare and strengthening medical education in underserved communities.
As the inaugural program director of the Georgia South Family Medicine Residency Program, as well as former chief of staff and chief of medicine at Colquitt Regional Medical Center, Dr. Smith has demonstrated a lasting commitment to leadership and service. Recognized for his humanitarian impact, he has mentored generations of physicians dedicated to providing compassionate, community-centered care.
Parking is free at the UGA Tifton Campus Conference Center.
