This achievement comes in addition to the program’s existing full accreditation from the American Psychological Association (APA)—positioning PCOM among a select group of institutions nationwide to hold the highest
levels of recognition in both school psychology and health service psychology.
“This is a testament to the quality of our curriculum, our commitment to our students,
and the strength of our clinical training partnerships,” said Kate Tresco, PhD, director of the PsyD program in School Psychology. “NASP’s full accreditation affirms our mission to prepare graduates to be effective,
compassionate, and highly competent practitioners who support the mental health and
learning needs of children and adolescents.”
The NASP review process evaluates a program’s alignment with professional standards
in areas such as student competencies, faculty qualifications, internship quality,
and evidence-based practice. Accreditation from both NASP and APA signals to school
districts, licensing boards, and employers that PCOM graduates are well-prepared to
meet the growing and complex needs of today’s school communities.
“We are thrilled to add NASP full accreditation to our program’s achievements,” said
Jessica Kendorski, PhD, NCSP, BCBA-D, chair of the Department of School Psychology. “This recognition highlights our commitment to comprehensive and interdisciplinary
training that supports the whole child across educational and mental health settings.
It also ensures our students graduate with the credentials and confidence to succeed
at the highest levels of practice.”
Offered on PCOM’s Philadelphia campus, the PsyD in School Psychology program prepares
graduates to become licensed psychologists and nationally certified school psychologists
(NCSP). Students benefit from early and sustained field experiences, mentorship from
expert faculty, and robust research opportunities designed to shape future leaders in the field.
