Julianna Bidic (PsyD ’27) has always had a passion for working with children, adolescents, and their families, so matching in child clinical and pediatric psychology at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, Pennsylvania, felt like a dream come true.

“Opening the email, I was ecstatic,” Bidic said. “I look forward to continuing to learn how to apply psychological principles to my chosen population in a setting that emphasizes interdisciplinary care.”

Throughout her time in the Doctor of Psychology in Clinical Psychology (PsyD) program at PCOM, Bidic credits the College’s comprehensive curriculum in therapy and assessment skills—including readings, didactics, role-plays, and practicum experiences—for preparing her for success.

She also noted that the PsyD program’s supportive faculty and students helped shape her experience by providing advice and teaching valuable skills.

Bidic hopes to pursue a career as a pediatric psychologist in a medical setting but wants to keep the door open to other opportunities such as owning a private practice or teaching.

Her advice to incoming students is two-fold: “First, do not be hesitant to ask questions. The PCOM faculty is incredibly supportive,” she said. “Second, I would tell first-year students to become connected with their classmates. I feel very blessed that my cohort is close! We come to each other for advice, laughs, and support, and I could not be more thankful for that.”
