Prior to joining Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, Linda R. Adkison, MS, PhD served as the Provost of Trinity Medical Sciences University and Dean of the School of Medicine in St. Vincent and the Grenadines from 2016 through 2019. Dr. Adkison is an experienced site visitor for several accrediting agencies including the Commission on Osteopathic College Accreditation (COCA) and the Caribbean Accreditation Authority for Education in Medicine and Other Health Professions (CAAM-HP). She also served as Associate Dean for Curricular Affairs and Professor of Genetics at Kansas City University from 2008 through 2015. In addition, Dr. Adkison was Professor of Genetics and Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Mercer University School of Medicine before moving to Kansas City.

Education

Dr. Adkison's education includes a BS and MS degree from Georgia Southern University and a PhD in genetics from Texas A&M University followed by a 3-year post-doctoral NIH fellowship at The Jackson Laboratory in Bar Harbor, Maine. Additional post graduate training includes a fellowship in the Hedwig van Ameringen Executive Leadership in Academic Medicine program, the Harvard Macy Institute, Mount Sinai School of Medicine and Albert Einstein College of Medicine.

Research

Dr. Adkison's research focuses on medical education assessments and outcomes metrics.
