JOY ZARANDY, DO

Assistant Professor
Dr. Joy Zarandy is a board certified family medicine physician. She attended the University
of Georgia for her undergraduate studies where she graduated Magna Cum Laude and earned
her bachelor of science in 2009 with double majors in biology and psychology and a
minor in Spanish. She graduated medical school in 2013 from PCOM Georgia in Suwanee, Georgia, receiving honors as a member of the
Sigma Sigma Phi national osteopathic medicine honors fraternity. She completed her
family medicine residency in 2016 at AnMed Health in Anderson, South Carolina.
After residency Dr. Zarandy practiced outpatient family medicine for six years in
the North Atlanta area. Her professional passions include primary care, preventative
medicine, women’s health, promoting mental wellness and training future healthcare
providers.
Dr. Zarandy has always been a strong advocate for medical education for both patients
and students. As a practicing clinician she served as a medical school guest lecturer,
table trainer for osteopathic manipulation and preceptor for nurse practitioner and
medical students. During her career she has received the AnMed Resident Teacher Award
and several student teaching awards. In 2022 she joined her alma mater, PCOM Georgia,
as full-time faculty.
Dr. Zarandy is native to Georgia. Her husband is also a proud graduate of PCOM Georgia
and serves as Team Physician for a local professional sports team. They have two young
and active sons. Dr. Zarandy is an avid runner and has participated in several marathons
and half marathons. She appreciates the importance of a healthy work-life balance
and enjoys family-time, baking and cake decorating, training in martial arts and DIY
projects.
