ERICA RUSHING, MD, MPH 
Associate Dean of Pre-Clinical Curriculum
Professor of Pathology

Dr. Rushing is a U.S. trained physician and diplomate of the American Board of Pathology in both Anatomic Pathology and Dermatopathology. After graduating from the Pennsylvania State University College of Medicine, she obtained her Masters of Public Health degree at The Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, where she did melanoma research at The Sidney Kimmel Cancer Center. She then completed her Anatomic pathology residency at The Cleveland Clinic Foundation and Dermatopathology fellowship at The University of Arkansas. She practiced in private practice dermatopathology for seven years before deciding to dedicate herself to teaching full-time. Since then, Dr. Rushing has taught medical school pathology to over 1000 medical students and mentored many of them through their medical school journey and boards preparation. Dr. Rushing has created her own online comprehensive boards review course (Rushingreview) and has been published in several journals including Human Pathology, The Journal of Cutaneous Pathology and Modern Pathology. At PCOM, Dr. Rushing teaches pathology and the Comprehensive Basic Science Review and Synthesis course for boards preparation in second year. As Associate Dean of Pre-Clinical Curriculum, Dr. Rushing is also involved in curriculum oversight, academic planning and course evaluations.
