PCOM South Georgia Opportunities Academy
Moultrie Summer STEM Program
Moultrie area high school student participants have the opportunity to explore careers
in healthcare while building relationships with PCOM South Georgia faculty and student
mentors.
The PCOM South Georgia Opportunities Academy is held in late June of each year at
PCOM South Georgia in Moultrie. This program is available to Southwest Georgia area high school students
at no cost.
About the STEM program
Students will participate in clinical skills simulations in the Simulation Center, visit the anatomy lab, participate in heart and brain anatomy labs, learn CPR and more. Additionally, participants
will learn about the college application process as well as build networks with physicians,
researchers and other healthcare professionals.

How to apply
Applications will open soon. High school students applying to the program will provide
a short personal statement about their future career goals and at least one teacher
recommendation.
Mentor positions
Current PCOM students play a vital role in the planning and implementation of the
