Match Day Celebration

Match Day is a nationally celebrated event for fourth-year medical students. Most medical students who are approaching graduation and plan to pursue a specialty register to participate in the National Resident Matching Program©, also known as The Match©. During the Match Day ceremony, students will open envelopes that reveal where they will complete their residency training. This celebration marks the successful completion of medical school and months of applications and interviews.

Program

11 a.m. – Arrival
11:20 a.m. – Congratulatory faculty and staff messages/videos
11:55 a.m. – Class chair remarks
11:59 a.m. – Countdown to noon
12 p.m. – Toast and opening of emails/letters
12:15 p.m. – Celebration with friends and family
1 p.m. – Celebration ends

Light hors d’oeuvres and refreshments will be provided.

Attending Match Day is an exciting milestone for students and their loved ones. To make sure everyone has a smooth experience, please follow the registration and ticketing guidelines below. All students—whether attending or not—must complete these steps via Tassel by the stated deadline.

RSVP and Registration
  • Register for Match Day through the Tassel student pass and guest tickets link using your PCOM student account.
  • Each student is allowed three (3) guest tickets.
  • RSVP deadline: TBD
Instructions for Students Who Are Attending
  1. Complete all prompts in Tassel when you register.
  2. Secure your three guest tickets at the end of the registration process.
Instructions for Students Who Are Not Attending
  • You must still register in Tassel and select “No” for attendance.
  • You will need to secure your tickets if you would like to give them to an attending student who needs additional tickets.
Guest Tickets
  • Students are responsible for emailing tickets to their guests.
  • Every guest aged three (3) and older must have an individual ticket.
  • Tickets will be scanned at entry; please do not attempt to bring extra guests beyond your ticket allotment.

Business professional attire is required for students and guests.

Clear Bag Policy

To ensure a safe and quick entry process, Pennsylvania Convention Center enforces a clear bag policy. 

Accessibility

The Pennsylvania Convention Center is an ADA compliant facility. 

Prohibited Items

The following items are not allowed inside the venue:

  • balloons
  • confetti
  • posters
  • flags
  • animals (with the exception of service animals)

We suggest using SpotHero for parking around the Convention Center. Reservations are required, so it is best to make them in advance.
