Prior to attending PCOM Georgia, Crane worked as an athletic trainer at an orthopedic clinic for two years and found he wanted to take on a more direct patient role.

He said he was drawn to PCOM Georgia “because of its strong reputation for preparing physician assistant (PA) students for the certification exam and career path ahead.” Location was also an important factor as he and his wife lived in Atlanta and she was able to continue her current job, supporting them both.

Crane grew up in Florence, Alabama, graduating from Auburn University, the place where he also met his wife. He then went to the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga for graduate school to become an athletic trainer.

Following graduation, Crane plans to work in emergency medicine. “I have a passion for emergency medicine and I am greatly looking forward to providing care for patients during times of need,” he said.

“I am excited to get started and use all of the knowledge and skills I have acquired during my time at PCOM and throughout my rotations.”

With a desire to be well rounded, adaptable and prepared, he said being a physician assistant has “prepared me for multiple roles and will help me make a tangible positive impact in the lives of others.”

He offered the following advice to those considering a career as a physician assistant. “PCOM will prepare you for success. The journey will be tough, but take it one day at a time. Work hard, stay positive and keep moving forward. In a short time, you will look back and realize how far you've come and how much you've grown.”

He expressed his gratitude to the PCOM physician assistant faculty members for all they have done. “Your guidance, support and expertise have helped me grow both personally and academically.”

He also acknowledged his wife “for her unwavering love, support and encouragement throughout the journey.”
