Thomas J. Gravina Named Vice Chair of PCOM Boards

Today the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine (PCOM) announced that Thomas J. Gravina has been named Vice Chairman of its Board of Trustees. Mr. Gravina has served on PCOM board since 2003, and previously was chairman of the Audit Committee and Finance Committee. He continues his role as Chairman of the Foundation Committee.

In addition, Mr. Gravina’s service to PCOM has included chairmanship—from 2005 to 2011—of the College’s annual Golf Classic which raised more than $1,000,000 during his tenure. Most recently he chaired the institution’s search committee for its current President and CEO. For his tireless service to the College, Mr. Gravina received the President’s Leadership award in 2010.

“It is an honor to serve on the board of the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine,” said Mr. Gravina. “For over a century PCOM has trained thousands of physicians stimulating intellectual growth through teaching and research. Of equal importance, PCOM has made significant contributions to the well-being of many communities through various projects and initiatives that provide much-needed care to the medically underserved.”

Mr. Gravina is co-founder and Executive Chairman of GPX Enterprises, LP and its affiliates; he also is co-founder, Chairman and CEO of Evolve IP, where he oversees all fundraising, strategy and acquisition activities. Additionally he serves as a member of the board of directors of FS Investment Corporation, a New York Stock Exchange listed BDC. Mr. Gravina also serves on the board of trustees of FS Energy and Power Fund, where he is the Chairman of the Nominating and Corporate Governance Committee, and FS Global Credit Opportunities Fund, FS Global Credit Opportunities Fund—A and FS Global Credit Opportunities Fund—D. Mr. Gravina is a member of the Nominating and Corporate Governance Committee and the Valuation Committee of FS Global Credit Opportunities Fund. Mr. Gravina is also a member of the board of directors for People for People.

Mr. Gravina received a bachelor of science in business administration from Villanova University and is an active alumnus sitting on the President’s Leadership Committee. He supports numerous fund raising activities for a variety of charitable organizations, including the United Way, Special Olympics, American Cancer Society and Junior Achievement.
