Alfonso Arevalo, DO `17, resident, orthopedic surgery, co-authored “A Scoping Review of Injuries in Amateur and Professional Men's Ice Hockey,” which was published in the Orthopaedic Journal of Sports Medicine.

Molly Casey, DO `22, co-authored “Safety Gaps In Medical Team Communication: Closing The Loop On Quality Improvement Efforts In The Cardiac Catheterization Lab,” which was published in the journal Catheterization and Cardiovascular Interventions.

Anthony Concilla, DO `22, was first author of “The Dermatologist on Social Media: When the Pros Outweigh the Cons. Comment on "Risks and Benefits of Using Social Media in Dermatology: Cross-sectional Questionnaire Study" which was published in the journal JMIR Dermatology. He also co-authored “An Analysis of Skin of Color Content on TikTok,” which was also published in the journal JMIR Dermatology.

Tu Dang, research assistant and Xinyu (Eric) Wang, PhD, associate professor, pharmaceutical sciences, co-authored “Targeted Delivery of DNA Topoisomerase Inhibitor SN38 to Intracranial Tumors of Glioblastoma Using Sub-5 Ultrafine Iron Oxide Nanoparticles,” which was published in the journal Advanced Healthcare Materials.

Philip Fabrizio, PT, DPT, EdD, associate professor, physical therapy, co-authored “Effect Of Motivational Behaviors And Race/Ethnicity On Academic Success In Physical Therapy Students: A Preliminary Study,” which was published in the journal Anatomy (DergiPark).

Marya Ghazzi, DO `22, co-authored “Spinal Cord Injury Following Minimally Invasive Spinal Decompression,” which was published in the journal Interventional Pain Management Reports.

Sarah Glisan (DO `23) was first author of “Wernicke Encephalopathy Following Gastric Bypass: A Case Report,” which was published in the journal Case Reports in Neurology.

Grzegorz Gorski, MD, PhD, senior research technician, biochemistry and molecular biology; Jacquelyn Gerhart, MS, director, bioimaging facility; Mindy George-Weinstein, PhD, chief research and science officer; co-authored “Sustained Release of Antibody-Conjugated DNA Nanocarriers from a Novel Injectable Hydrogel for Targeted Cell Depletion to Treat Cataract Posterior Capsule Opacification,” which was published in the Journal of Ocular Pharmacology and Therapeutics.

Ryan Kovacik, DO `22, co-authored “Global Longitudinal Strain To Identify Low-Risk Patients With Suspected ACS,” which was published in the European Heart Journal - Cardiovascular Imaging.

Hua Ling, PharmD, associate professor, pharmacy practice, co-authored “Assessing the Elevation of Cardiac Biomarkers and the Severity of COVID-19 Infection: A Meta-analysis,” which was published in the Journal of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences.

John Malin (DO `23) co-authored “Complete Transcatheter Versus Complete Surgical Treatment In Patients With Aortic Valve Stenosis And Concomitant Coronary Artery Disease: Study-Level Meta-Analysis With Reconstructed Time-To-Event Data,” which was published in the Journal of Cardiac Surgery.

Shana Santarelli, DO `22, co-authored “Lidocaine Incorporated Alprostadil-phentolamine Urethral Gel for Erectile Dysfunction: Patient Tolerability and Satisfaction,” which was published in the Journal of Sexual Medicine.

Scott Serpico (DO`23) was first author of “Suicide Amongst Transplant Recipients: Trends And Unique Risk Factors,” which was published in the journal Clinical Transplantation.

Harleen Sethi, DO, resident, otolaryngology and Matthew Brennan, DO, resident, otolaryngology were first authors of “Examination Of Care Processes And Treatment Optimization For Head And Neck Cancer Patients In A Community Setting “Hub And Hub” Model,” which was published in the World Journal of Otorhinolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery.

Hamid Shirazi, DO `22, co-authored “Continuous Testosterone Therapy with Recombinant FSH & HCG Improves Semen Parameters: A Pilot Study,” which was published in the Journal of Sexual Medicine.

Aldwin Soumare, DO `22, co-authored “A Virtual Summer Research and Mentorship Program for Underrepresented in Medicine (URiM) Medical Students in Psychiatry,” which was published in the journal Academic Psychiatry.

Anthony Viola III, DO, resident, orthopedic, co-authored “Use Of Antibiotic-Cement Coated Locking Plates In The Setting Of Periprosthetic Infection And Infected Nonunion,” which was published in the journal Injury.

Chelsea Williams (DO `25) co-authored “Prevalence And Surgical Management Of Cholesteatoma In Down Syndrome Children,” which was published in the International Journal of Pediatric Otorhinolaryngology.

Dianzheng Zhang, PhD, professor, biochemistry and molecular biology, co-authored “Tyrosine Phosphatase PTPRO Deficiency in ERBB2-Positive Breast Cancer Contributes to Poor Prognosis and Lapatinib Resistance,” which was published in the journal Frontiers in Pharmacology.
