The monthly editions of Kudos celebrate faculty, staff and student publications and
accolades at Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine (PCOM), Georgia Campus –
Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine (GA-PCOM) and PCOM South Georgia.
Lauren Coffua (DO'20) co-authored "Quality of Life and Sexual Well-being after Nipple Sparing Mastectomy:
A Matched Comparison of Patients using the Breast Q," in the Journal of Surgical Oncology.
Marsha Wesley Coleman, clinical instructor, organizational development and leadership, held presentations
on “When Cultures Meet” and “the Organization Workshop” at Ahmadu Bello University
in Samaru Zaria, Nigeria, for the Association of Christian Veterinarians of Nigeria.
Jason Cohn, DO, resident, otolaryngology, was first author on the article “Castleman Disease,” published
in the Ear, Nose & Throat Journal.
Matthew DiMeglio (DO/MBA ’20), co-authored "Behavioral Patterns of Electrolyte Repletion in Intensive Care Units:
Lessons from a Large Electronic Dataset" in the journal Scientific Reports.
Scott Glassman, PsyD ’13, clinical assistant professor, psychology, gave a talk titled, “Using motivational
interviewing to enhance vaccination readiness,” at the 24th Annual Pennsylvania Immunization
Conference.
Caleb Ba Mendoza (DO ’19), published “When You Hear Hooves, Do Not Ignore the Zebra: Malignancy Disguised as
Recurrent Pneumonia,” in the American Journal of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine.
Darnae Parks, assistant director of admissions, was recently named to the American Association
of Colleges of Pharmacy Champions Advisory Committee. Ms. Parks will serve for a three
year term beginning September 1.
David Pisarcik (DO ’19) co-authored “Effects of Inflammatory Bowel Disease Treatment on the Risk of Nonalcoholic
Fatty Liver Disease: A Meta-Analysis,” which published in the European Journal of Gastroenterology and Hepatology.
Ahmed Siddiqi, DO, orthopedic resident, was first author on “Effects of Coronal Limb Alignment and
Ligament Balance on Pain and Satisfaction Following Total Knee Arthroplasty at Short-Term
Follow Up,” which published in the journal Surgical Technology International.
Alisa Toney, director of development, is serving as Steering Committee Chair of the 2018-2019
Leadership Gwinnett program.
Leanne Honeycutt Varner, PharmD, assistant professor, pharmacy practice, published “Effectiveness of Treating
Prolonged Mechanical Ventilation Related Anxiety with Atypical Antipsychotics,” in
the American Journal of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine.
Xinyu (Eric) Wang, PhD, associate professor, pharmaceutical sciences, co-authored “An Optimized LC-MS/MS
Method for Determination of HYNIC-3PRGD2, a New Promising Imaging Agent for Tumor
Targeting, in Rat Plasma and its Application,” in the Journal of Chromatography.
Dianzheng Zhang, PhD, professor, bio-medical sciences, co-authored “The Roles of the COX2/PGE2/EP Axis
in Therapeutic Resistance,” in the journal Cancer and Metastasis Reviews.
