Sisters in Medicine

Members of Sisters in Medicine pose togetherThe Sisters in Medicine initiative aims to facilitate the success of Black women in medical and graduate school.

The initiative is also committed to positively impact underrepresented people, schools and communities near PCOM’s campuses by minimizing the social determinants of health that impact Black women as well as promote advocacy and global health.

Goals

  • To create a network of Black women in professional school.
  • To facilitate collaborative scholarship among Black women in graduate school.
  • To facilitate the development of relationships to enhance members' professional development, sponsorship and community engagement.
  • To foster success in the areas of clinicians, scholarly inquiry and service to communities.
  • To advance research on Black maternal health.
