KAREN SPRINGER

Deputy Chief of Finance

Karen Springer serves as Deputy Chief of Finance at Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine (PCOM), bringing more than 30 years of financial leadership experience across higher education and the private sector. She has been a member of the PCOM community since 2019, previously serving for six years as Director of Financial Operations.

In her current role, Karen provides leadership and oversight for Payroll, Procurement, Accounts Payable, Bursar, Treasury and Merchant Services. She also led the finance component of PCOM's implementation of Workday, the institution's enterprise resource planning (ERP) system, helping guide the finance function through the transition to a new financial platform and the stabilization of financial processes.

Karen began her career in the manufacturing industry, where she spent 13 years in financial roles before transitioning to higher education in 2003. She began her higher education career as Vice President of Finance at the original Katharine Gibbs School, where she developed extensive experience in financial operations and organizational leadership.

As a member of PCOM's executive leadership team, Karen is committed to strengthening financial operations, advancing process improvements and supporting the institution's mission through sound financial stewardship and collaborative leadership.
