Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Councils

The primary mission of the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Councils is to develop, recommend and advocate policies, procedures and programs that advance PCOM’s mission: cultivate an environment of inquiry, inquisitiveness and respect; promote discovery and celebration of our differences; and foster appreciation of the rich social fabric that binds the campus community together.

About the Diversity Councils

The Diversity Councils at PCOM, PCOM Georgia and PCOM South Georgia will regularly advise the president’s Cabinet on matters of diversity and provide insight and understanding of the importance of fostering a more diverse and pluralistic campus community that is welcoming, safe and affirming for all. The Diversity Council will review the current state of the College’s diversity efforts, lead the creation of a strategic plan that promotes diversity and inclusion throughout the College, and advance long-range planning initiatives to ensure the College reflects the rich diversity of cultural heritage and experiences found across the PCOM community, the country and the world.

Supporting One Another as we Rise

Formed in 2019, Supporting One Another as we Rise (SOAR) is an informal colleague resource group whose purpose is to encourage the mental and professional development of the Black, non-teaching, full- and part-time staff of PCOM. We are a place to which we may bring our authentic selves and from which we can connect with our non-Black allies and advocates in support of our diverse community. Contact Fatima Stallworth for more information and to learn about upcoming events.
