Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine (PCOM) is moving forward with plans for a School of Pharmacy to be established at its Georgia branch campus (GA-PCOM). The school is scheduled to open in fall, 2010 pending successful accreditation from the appropriate accreditation agencies. PCOM is a nationally-recognized institution with an enrollment of 1426 medical students and 736 graduate students on two campuses.
The Georgia campus is a 19-acre site approximately 25 miles northeast of Atlanta in Gwinnett County, Georgia, which currently serves 338 medical students and 75 graduate students. The professional degree program in pharmacy will have a strong regional emphasis, with a focus on increasing the number of pharmacists in Georgia and the southeast. Dr. Mark Okamoto, founding dean and chief academic officer of the School of Pharmacy and the PCOM administration are now engaged in forming the pharmacy school leadership team and faculty. Qualified candidates are sought for the following positions:
- Faculty: Pharmacy Administration, Basic and Pharmaceutical Sciences, Pharmacy Practice
- Administrative Assistant (Pre-Clinical Education)
Salary and appointment level will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
