Assistant Professor of Pharmacy Practice
Dr. Shannon received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Pharmacy. Prior to pharmacy school, she received her Bachelor of Science in Biology with a minor in Chemistry from the Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (Virginia Tech). Dr. Shannon completed an American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) accredited Primary Care Pharmacy Practice Residency at Grady Health System in Atlanta, Georgia. She is currently a member of the National Lipid Association, American Society of Health-System Pharmacists, and the Georgia Society of Health-System Pharmacists in addition to participating in a local Atlanta area lipid journal club. Dr. Shannon’s areas of special interest include anticoagulation, dyslipidemia, diabetes, heart failure, and hypertension.
