Associate Professor of Pharmaceutical Science
Dr. Nimmanapalli is a native of Kadapa, Andhrapradesh, India and has resided in the US since 1999. Dr. Nimmanapalli received her bachelor’s degree in Veterinary Sciences and Animal Husbandary from SV Veterinary University (formerly APAU) and then she obtained her master's in Veterinary Sciences from IVRI Izath Nagar, UP India. Dr. Nimmanapalli earned her doctorate in Biochemistry/Virology from the University of Oxford, Oxford, England. Dr. Nimmanapalli conducted her postdoctoral research in hematological malignancies at Moffitt Cancer Center Tampa, FL.
Prior to joining PCOM School of Pharmacy, Dr. Nimmanapalli served as a faculty member at MD Anderson Cancer Center, Houston, Texas and at Tuskegee University, College of Veterinary Medicine Nursing and Allied health as an Assistant Professor where she taught Virology, Clinical Microbiology to Veterinary students. Dr. Nimmanapalli is Diplomate in American College of Veterinary Microbiology. As a researcher in Virology and cancer field, Dr. Nimmanapalli published several papers in peer reviewed journals, including PNAS, Blood and Cancer Research. Her main research focus has been elucidating the role of heat shock proteins in tumorgenesis, tumor progression and drug resistance in hematological malignancies.
