Presented by Continuing Medical Education at PCOM, this program will acquaint health practitioners with key concepts in interdisciplinary palliative care.
Upon completion of this program, participants should be able to understand the role of palliative care in trauma and intensive care settings. You will become familiar with key concepts of hematology, oncology and radiation oncology in the care of seriously ill patients as well as develop awareness about how to assist patients who face life-limiting illness.
Participants will appreciate evidence on the impact of spirituality on health and on health outcomes and apply the understanding of a patient’s spiritual and cultural beliefs to appropriate clinical contexts. You will understand the role of chaplains, clergy and other spiritual leaders, and how to communicate and collaborate with them on behalf of patients’ needs.REGISTER ONLINE
