Join Continuing Medical Education at PCOM for a conference full of presentations and demonstrations on various emergency medicine topics.
Upon completion of this program, participants will acquire an updated understanding of current diagnosis, intervention and treatment of medical circumstances arising from toxicology disorders including occupational fentanyl exposure, toxicological agents of opportunity, vaping and inhalants, tox cases masquerading as medical illness, isoniazid as chemical pathogen, chemical warfare agents, prehospital medical direction of environmental emergencies and other acute cases of toxic exposure and ingestions.
Additionally, there will be ED management of gastrointestinal presentations including hepatic and pancreatic disease, volvuli, hernias, non-specific abdominal pain, diverticulitis/diverticulosis and petechia and purpura in the ED, and ophthalmologic emergencies and vision disorders with neurologic etiology will be discussed. Medical errors, medical/legal perspectives in emergency medicine, opioid crisis and non-opioid treatment of pain, dealing with difficult patients in the ED, diagnosing cancer in the ED and ED patient satisfaction will be presented. Atypical and challenging ED presentations, diagnostic dilemmas and cases from current emergency medicine practice will be included as well.
Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine is accredited by the American Osteopathic
Association to provide osteopathic continuing medical education for physicians. Philadelphia
College of Osteopathic Medicine designates this program for a maximum of twenty-eight
hours of AOA Category 1-A credits and will report CME and specialty credits commensurate
with the extent of the physician’s
participation in this activity.

These fees include continental breakfast and lunch. Registration is limited on a first-come, first-served basis and cannot be confirmed without tuition fee.
Refunds for extended programs – 90 percent of the fee will be refunded if written cancellation is post-marked at least 10 days before the program date.
