Student Elective Rotation

Learn more about the internal medicine or intensive care unit (ICU) student elective rotation with Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine.

Required Documents

In order for your application to be reviewed or approved, the following documents must be submitted:

  • Elective application (PDF)
  • Photo
  • Copy of health insurance card (front and back)
  • Certificate of malpractice insurance (minimum of $1 million/$3 million, current at time of requested rotation dates)
  • Letter of good standing
  • State criminal background check (within two years of the requested rotation dates, this clearance may be obtained in your state)
  • Immunization records
  • PPD test results (within one year of the requested rotation dates)
  • Flu shot verification (within one year of the requested rotation dates)
  • Mask fit test results (within one year of the requested rotation dates)
  • Affiliation agreement (for non-PCOM students)

Application Process

For your application to be approved, all required documentation (see above) must be submitted with your application.

Applications may take six to eight weeks for approval.

Rotation Months

  • Audition rotation July through December for fourth-year students only
  • Non-audition rotations December through June

  • Chestnut Hill Memorial Hospital (ICU only for 4th-year PCOM students)
