Before joining the PA faculty at PCOM in 2017, Elizabeth Masten worked in PA education
for four years. She has a background in emergency medicine and obstetrics and gynecology,
where she still practices clinically.
Masten has published articles in peer reviewed journals including the Journal of the American Association of Physician Assistants and has presented lectures on the national level at the Physician Assistant Educators Association conference as well as the American Academy of Physician Assistants conference.
Masten has also taken part in international medical service trips to both Nicaragua and Belize. She was a team leader who organized and supervised a group of physician assistant students and medical students during a medical mission trip to Nicaragua. She also participated in an interprofessional education experience with physician assistant, physical therapy and genetic counseling students in San Ambergris Caye, Belize.
