Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine is committed to reducing our impact on the environment. We promote environmental awareness through our continuous expansion of a recycling program that includes plastic, aluminum and printer cartridge recycling in addition to paper product recycling.
Since 2006, PCOM's Department of Plant Operations, led by Chief Facilities Officer Frank H. Windle, has been evaluating college facilities and energy usage. Savings initiatives implemented to date include using an auxiliary generator and bidding load reduction capabilities in real time on the open market during peak demand energy times and embracing alternative and blended fuels. These measures have resulted in significant cost savings for the College while protecting the environment.
